Leg 5 - Cape Eleuthera Eleuthera, Bahamas
4/7/24 - 4/12/24
30 Miles
Cape Eleuthera, one of our favorite visits. Cape Eleuthera Resort and Marina is located in the southern tip of Eleuthera. Coming from the Exumas, we thought it was an easy and new location to check out as we planned our last days in the Bahamas. There are so many unique features of this area we found appealing. Most notably is the Eleuthera Institute and Island School, two highly regarded research and educational facilities a quick bike ride down the road from the marina. Between the students and scientists their presence creates a bustling atmosphere. The Cape Eleuthera Resort and Marina grounds and amenities are exceptional. We took full advantage of the beaches, pool, hidden water holes, walking trails, marina bikes and delicious on-site restaurant. We originally planned to stay 3 days and ended up staying longer, a combination of we really liked it at Cape Eleuthera and the winds had us on a hold. We highly recommend a visit to Cape Eleuthera, a beautiful place by boat or on land they offer a variety of villas or cabanas. We hope to be back some day soon.

Every day we biked by The Island School and every day Johnny was our greeter. Johnny has worked at The Island School for 10 years, he absolutely loves his job and is very happy to share all the cool stuff they have going on at the school. You may know it as a semester program for 10/11 grade high schoolers, it is also home to a elementary school to local children. Sustainability based, the school's curriculum use their native ecosystems as the foundation for their immersive learning model.
